Enforced through knowledge
Oversight that protects the mandate.
We work with private equity and asset management institutions to build and enforce Outside Counsel Guidelines, audit legal spend, and train procurement personnel to apply billing standards with consistency and confidence — closing every gap that erodes fiduciary trust before it reaches the bottom line.
The Problem
About Custodia Advisory
Legal spend is one of the least scrutinised lines on an institutional balance sheet — and one of the easiest to get wrong. OCGs go unenforced. Invoices go unread. Fund expense allocations drift from what was agreed. Entities stay registered long after they've served their purpose — accumulating fees with no operational justification.
Custodia exists to close that gap before it costs you.
Auditing. Enforcing. Protecting institutional interests.
Custodia operates outside the relationships it reviews. We are not owned by, or commercially tied to, the law firms or fiduciary providers whose invoices we audit and whose guidelines we help enforce - which means our recommendations are shaped by what the numbers show, not by who referred whom. For institutions accountable to their own investors, that independence is the point: oversight only protects the mandate if it isn’t quietly compromised by the same referral relationships it’s meant to be checking.
